Action sells its wood on a rotating basis once it has been fully seasoned. We cut and split wood 12 months of the year.
Our specialty Kānuka Firewood (the big brother to Mānuka) is superb for hangis, home heating, pizza ovens and smoking fish/meat.
Our trucks are hand loaded so you receive firewood, not grass, rocks or gravel that a loader will scoop up.

What is Action's point of difference?
Having worked in the firewood industry for over 20 years and seeing the shortcomings of other merchants, Action’s point of difference is simple: our vehicles are measurement certified by the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment to comply with trading standards.
What is the difference between green, seasoned and dry wood?
- Green wood is freshly cut and doesn’t burn very well, it will generally just smoke. Firewood must be stored outside exposing it to the wind, rain and sun, this will season it. Stacking green wood into a garage, or other enclosed space, will cause it to rot.
- Seasoned wood is stored outside exposed to the elements, this allows the sap to come out of the wood, the bark to start falling off and the wood will start to split open as it dries.
- Our dry wood has been seasoned for a minimum of 12 months for soft-woods (pine) and 2 years for hardwoods (manuka, kanuka). Our dry wood has been stored in our large airy sheds, exposed to the wind and sun but out of the rain.
